Running Toward Change: The Ahmaud Arbery Foundation
On February 23, 2020, Ahmaud Arbery’s life was unjustly taken while simply jogging through his neighborhood—targeted by racial prejudice and senseless violence. In the face of unimaginable loss, his mother, Wanda Cooper-Jones, refused to let injustice have the final word. She fought tirelessly to hold her son’s killers accountable, securing a conviction that set a precedent for justice. But Wanda’s mission didn’t stop there. Turning pain into purpose, she founded the Ahmaud Arbery Foundation to create real change—championing mental health awareness, scholarship opportunities, and youth development camps that uplift and empower young Black Men. Through these programs, Ahmaud’s legacy lives on, inspiring a future where every young man can run freely, dream boldly, and thrive without fear.

The Run With Maud 5K is a powerful annual event that brings communities together to honor Ahmaud’s life and advocate for justice. Our Youth Experience Camp provides young boys with an immersive learning environment where they develop essential life skills, build confidence, and gain practical social and emotional tools.
